Tiredness is a subjective feeling described as fatigue or reduced energy for the performance of normal daily activities. This symptom is non-specific and can be attributable to many health conditions including psychiatric, psychosocial, hematologic, infectious, malignancy, electrolyte abnormalities and endocrine problems (Siegenthaler, 2007). It is helpful to ask questions about all the different systems that can cause the symptom of tiredness in order to differentiate between the various causes.
