Lasers can be used for all manner of procedures including vision correction, hair removal, tumor cell destruction, and teeth cleaning. This paper will discuss some of these procedures and what role the laser plays during such surgeries.

Laser technology was first discussed in 1916 in an article written by Albert Einstein and his theory on stimulated light emission. However, it took until the 1950s for scientists and engineers to develop practical uses for the new phenomenon.
