Overview
The threat of global warming is becoming less debated. Unfortunately, a consensus has still not been reached in the global debate as to the extent of the causes and effects of global warming. The Western nations are largely responsible for leading the way in creating the global warming, yet developing nations are continuing the destructive pattern. It has been argued that “the poor nations of the world are demanding compensation for the damage we've caused, and expensive technical assistance to help them build a renewable energy future” (
McKibben
14). But in totality, it will take a combined effort from government and society to realize that ethics demands that global warming be curtailed.
