Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the importance of professionalism in nursing. The reason to write on professionalism is to express the standards that are required by the Canadian Nurses Association for a nurse to work with a certain level of performance. A review and evaluation of the Code of Ethics for LPNs and Professional Standards for registered nurses and nurse practitioners were used to determine professionalism in nursing. The use of the Code of Ethics for LPNs and Professional Standards resulted in understanding the different standards that describes the professionalism of a nurse.
