Seong (2011) states, “...in 2010 our population grew by 88,000 people in just four months, from January to April” and the reason for this growth can be attributed to immigration (par 1). Some people argue that immigrants are bad because they bring crime and problems to the country, but evidence can be shown to prove the opposite is true. It is important for people to realize that immigration is vital to Canada’s growth, it reduces crime, and diversity brings the benefits of enriching the culture with restaurants, languages, festivals and sports, especially in Canada’s large cities, including Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa.
