Sexual Violence against Partners What is the trigger for people sexually assaulting their partners or spouses? The bond that is formed in a happy intimate relationship between adults is a great thing and it is marked by trust above all else. However, the sad reality is that some people do engage in sexual violence against their partners – which leads us to ask what the trigger is that might cause people to sexually abuse those closest to them?
