Pros and Cons of Long-Term Care Insurance In this hotly debated health care reform era that we live in, the problem of the aging of the global population has encountered close scrutiny as risk versus cost is analyzed, in both private and public contexts, when determining the optimal way to care for our aging population. While no definitive answer to the potential cost of health care for the elderly, and especially the disabled elderly, has been reached, the issue of long-term care has been front and center in the bipartisan debate. This paper will address both the benefits and limitations of long-term care from both a consumer and societal perspective, as well as draw conclusions about whether long-term care is a viable solution to caring...The end:
