This is a proposal for a new non-governmental organization (NGO) with a goal of improving education and teacher preparation in Kenya, providing international experience for American teachers and providing a high quality “peace” and “computer technology” based curriculum for disadvantaged students from Kenya and other nations of East Africa.
The money would be spent primarily to build and maintain what in the United States would be called a “laboratory school” on an urban campus. Enrollment would include economically disadvantaged urban children from the Nairobi area, rural children who are underserved in their home villages, and children who are refugees from violence elsewhere in East Africa.
