New Cinema of France: “La Nouvelle Vaquet” The French have a unique knack for describing things. Frequently the rest of the world agrees and mimics the French, often incorporating these descriptions into their own native languages. For example, a ‘coup’ is universally accepted as a blow of some kind whether in the political arena or on the football field when one team challenges and defeats his opponent. Likewise, to ‘trump’ someone is to trick them, a term originating from the French term ‘ Trompe L’oeil ”, meaning a trick of the eye. With France at the cultural epicenter in regards to every aspect of the arts, especially the cinema, (not to be confused with ‘movies’), when a shift in styles has been affected, it likely has a connection...The end:
