Perhaps the most prolific example of how modern media influences the increase in violent acts in the U.S. is elucidated in the behavior of adolescents. Teenage years are quite often filled with trials and tribulations for both adolescents as well as parents. This period marks a transition stage that is the permanent entry into the longer journey to adulthood. Though a portion of teen angst is inherent in this stage, the behavior can go beyond this and enter the realm of violence.
