Excerpts from the Paper

The beginning:
This paper will examine the place of logistics in the overall business model of Walmart through a brief outline of Walmart’s history and will then examine where logistics fits into the overall picture of Walmart’s global interests, and how other executives, outside of the logistics department, view and value logistics to the corporation. The corporate website lacks an organizational chart, however, on its ‘About Us’ page lists logistics along with the following headers: Our purpose, History, culture, Corporate Office, Walmart, Sam’s Club, International, Awards & Recognition (Walmart Corporate, 2011). In otherwords, logistics is considered as important as the corporation’s purpose, history and culture.
