Judaism is not a religion, a race, an ethnicity or a culture. Judaism is a term to Jews that tells of the 4000 year history of Jews. Judaism tells the history of slavery, anarchic and theocratic self-government as well as the story of conquest, occupation and exile of the Jewish people. Judaism as a culture has been influenced by other cultures such as Egyptian, Babylonian, Persian, and Hellenic. The Enlightenment period and the recent rise of nationalism has also influenced Judaism (“Judaism”, 2005).
