This paper compares and contrasts the religions of Hinduism and Islam with an eye towards ultimately illuminating how Muslims and Hindus get along in contemporary India. Additionally, the paper will look at the start of hostilities between the two groups and will discuss where the future appears to be taking Hindu-Muslim relations in the world’s second most populous country. All told, the future does not look promising for Hindu-Muslim relations.
