Different Approaches to Management Theory Introduction Different theorists take different approaches to management theory, though all seek to explain the nature of management on the one hand and often to contribute a normative e view of what management should entail. Two of the theorists whose work has been taken to be prescriptive and even as it also shows the nature of management today are Peter Drucker and Chris Argyris. Both have addressed issues of organizational development and effectiveness and of how management often fails to recognize the nature of the organization and its relationship with its members.
