The Renaissance and Reformation occurred in a period that most historians refer to as Early Modern Europe. Early Modern Europe is roughly considered the period of European history between 1450-1600 (

). This period was marked by a number of important technological, political and social changes. These changes included the development of printing technologies, the rise of nation states and greater contact between different cultures within and outside of Europe (
