An Ad for the Anti-depressant Medication Cymbalta This paper will analyze an ad for the anti-depressant medication Cymbalta , looking at the purpose of the ad, the appeals it makes and the way it sells the idea of Cymbalta . The paper will then analyze the product itself, its actual effectiveness, side effects, etc. Furthermore, the contrast between what the visual and the verbal parts of the ad ‘say’ will be discussed. Using these analyses as the basis for the second part of the essay I will argue that the eye altering alters all, in this ad, since we are re-programmed to believe that depression is not a human, emotional response to the complexity of human life but a chemical imbalance whose symptoms need to be treated with another...The end:
