WHY IM ATTENDING COLLEGE

"Why I'm Attending College" I'm attending Stockton for a few reasons but I'm ultimately
going to college for my future. I want to be successful and rich so I can have all the
good things in life. I figure since my rock star career went south, I'll have to hit the
books. I'm here at Stockton to attain a degree in business and learn the things I need to
become a strong businessman. I enjoy business and want to continue with it for my career.
I'd love to be the CEO of some huge corporation some day. I also want the full college
experience partying, girls, partying... College gives me something to keep me going.
Without it I feel like my job at the car wash is taking me nowhere. I want to be able to
have a family without financial stress and worries. I used to think I was going to be a
professional basketball player but I'm to short so that didn't really work out the way I
planned it. Then I thought I'd be a professional golfer be I'm bored of the sport so I
don't want to play anymore. So finally I decided I'd have to study my way out of a middle
class family. I began my college education at a school out in Idaho that I didn't want to
be at in the first place. My parents thought that it would be good for me because it was
a church school and it would keep me out of trouble. Well I thought differently. I didn't
want to be at that school from the beginning, but finally I gave in and agreed to go. I
think the only reason I agreed to go was out of respect for my parents and because a
friend from home was going to room with me. So I guess originally I was going to college
for my parents and my friends. Those are the wrong reasons to be going across country to
a school. I didn't want to be going that far in the first place. Our trip took a total of
four days on the road. I believe that was the best part. When I got to school I was
miserable. I had absolutely no interest in meeting people or having a good time I just
wanted to go home and be out of that foreign environment. I t seemed like the worst month
of my life. It's obvious to see that I didn't make it through that first semester out at
Ricks college. It was so bad for me that I had enough and withdrew from school. When I
got home, needless to say, my parents were quite upset with me. What I was most worried
about was raising the money to pay for tuition myself. That was the rule if I didn't go
to a church school I had to pay my own tuition. So I got a job immediately when I got
home so I could get the money together in time. It wasn't easy but I'm here attending
Stockton. I can say I've worked hard to get here and I don't plan on wasting it. It's
going to be easy for me to work hard in school because I'm the one who's paying for it.
I'm always doing something now whether it be school or work or going out, because it
can't be all work with no play now can it. Besides, I like to go out as much as possible.
When I get older I want to have a family without the stress of financial barricades. My
entire life my parents have been working two or three jobs each just to make ends meet.
That's not where I want to be with my future. I want a sense of comfort that no matter
what happens I'll have the money to take care of it. I don't exactly need a luxurious
lifestyle, but I'd like to partake in a life of nicer cars, extravagant home, and cash in
the bank. So after all I guess I would like to have a few dollars. I know that if I want
my family to have this comfort then I'll have to plan now and stick to my plan so I can
make money right away and begin to invest to insure my children with a college education
of their choice. It's often hard to grow up without a substantial amount of money in the
family. I'm going to make sure that my wife and kids don't have to go through all of
that. On a more selfish side of the scale, I want to get out of that whole situation as
well. I'd like to drive expensive cars and wear the best suits, and most of all, I always
want to have money in my pocket. Like everyone else, I just want the good life. In
addition to all of that, a college degree looks good on any application. So many more
doors are opened to you if you have a college degree instead of just a high school
diploma. With the popularity of college lately, there is so much more competition in the
workforce. With a degree you would not only have that on your applications, but you'd
have the knowledge that you would need to attain the right job. College is my chance to
make something of myself, No one in my immediate family has graduated from college yet so
I'd like for them to be proud of me for that achievement. I'm working hard in school
because it's vital for my future. I need that education to accomplish all of the goals
that I have set out for myself. I'm attending college for many more reasons then the ones
I just mentioned, some I probably haven't discovered yet and might not for years. College
is going to start my own life on a foot that is ready to leap because my career is going
to take off right out of the gate. All-in-all I'm going to college for three main
reasons. My immediate family is a reason because I want them to be proud of me for doing
something right for once. My future family is also one because it's a big part of my life
that I want to be happy and always feel comfortable. Finally for my personal financial
well-being, so I can be able to treat myself to all the luxuries I want for myself. Going
back to line one, all of these things are a part of my future. Isn't that what college is
for after all, to prepare people for their own futures and what they bring? College is
future, it's only the beginning of it.
