KOBACK AND THE COMPUTERThe September air was cool and crisp ass all the schools and colleges were just opening. Jeff Koback a college sophmore, was anxious to bein college. After his lengthy three month summer break. The only thing he couldn't stand was the workload, because he was lucky because last your he almost didn't pass. This year the only thing he wants is a computer because it would make life so much easier. Jeff began his first weekend since returning to college by waking up early around nine o'clock in the morning took a shower, brushed his teeth, got dressed and drove to the bank. At the bank he walked to the teller, and asked "Can I cash this?" The teller responded "Yes you can, may I see your idenification," she read his drivers liscense andJeff cashed his paycheck. Jeff walked out of the bank as he tucked his money into his wallet, he jumped into his car and drove home. Twenty minutes later he parked his car and walked into the door. "Hey Jeff," Jeff's dad said as Jeff closed the door "Want some breakfast" "Sure," Jeff said. Jeff went to the oven and took his pancakes and bacon, and sat down with his dad to read the paper. They read the paper for twenty minutes as Jeff's dad asked "Hey Jeff, read this ad," he passed the ad to him and Jeff read through it as his dad explained. "Brand new computer really powerful and what you would like really cheap," he explained. "How much?" Jeff asked Jeff's dad pointed to the bottom of the ad where it said "$250 one day only, saturday." Jeff asked "Dad can I borrow some money, I only got like $150 from my paycheck." Jeff's dad replied "I can't I just paid my insurance bill, I would if I could," He thought to himself and then said "I think you should ask your mom and see what happens." Jeff pulled out his chair and said "Alright," and began looking for his mom. He started in her room and finally found her in the basement. He saw her and the first thing he asked was "Mom, I saw a computer in the paper and I want to know if I could borrow any money from you?" Jeff's mom replied "I don't have any money I could let you borrow but I have some money that you can earn," Jeff gulped as his mom began her lenghty list of choirs. "Well Jeff you can start by doing the lawn, closing and cleaning the pool, cleaning the basement, vaccuming the landing, and clean the living room." Jeff responded "Okay I think I will begin now," and went on his way to do the choirs. He saw his dad and asked "Dad are you sure that you can't lend me any money, because mom is going to work me to the bone." "Well I think a couple of choirs is good for you, and I will even help you," they went outside to mow the lawn. The lawn outisde was ankle high and hadn't been mowed in weeks it seemed. "Whoa," Jeff said "We're going to be here a while." "Yeah, okay you can use the riding lawn mower, and I will use the push mower" Jeff's dad said "Maybe if we're lucky we could be done by the end of the night." Jeff's dad jokingly repsonded. They mowed the lawn almost twice, and after about 2 hours of mowing, weed wacking, and picking up the klumps of grass. Jeff's dad jumped and scremed "Finally, we're done with that" Jeff watching said "Yeah it may have took some time but it looks good," Jeff took a couple of breaths and said "Next we have the pool clean and close it for the season." "How fun," Jeff's dad sarcasticly said. They looked at the pool, pondering an idea for about five minutes. Jeff told his dad the plan "I'll vaccum the pool, you go inside the shed and get the equiptment to close it, this will be alot shorter than the lawn." Jeff's dad went in the shed and began gathering the equiptment. Jeff went on the pool deck he skimmed the leaves for bugs and leaves. When he finished he jumped down connected the hose to the filter and began to vaccum the bottom of the pool. In about five minutes the pool was cleaned and ready to be closed for the season.
