Introduction
Explosive reactive armor and electric reactive armor provide protection against shaped-charge penetrators by disrupting the plasma jets created by impact and decreasing their penetrating power. Although both types of armor have respective advantages and disadvantages, one of the most important factors is that explosive reaction armor, which uses explosive material between two metal sheets, is more durable and reliable than electric reactive armor, which uses an electric current between two conducting plates and is more vulnerable to failure or malfunction because of its greater complexity and reliance on power generation.
